Romanian Sunday School
The classes are organised in the Church Hall (the building next to the church), every Sunday throughout the school year, after the Divine Liturgy, from 12:30. Classes are held in Romanian.
This educational initiative is targeted at Romanian children living in the UK, and the activities carried out within this institution have an interdisciplinary character.
The curriculum aims to teach and deepen the knowledge of Romanian language, literature, history and civilisation, promoting the faith, tradition, and spirituality of the Orthodox faith, but also to get acquainted with the customs and traditions specific to the Romanian culture.
The ‘Makarios Romanian School’ is a project within the Foundation of our Orthodox parish in Leeds – Saint Makarios The Great Ecclesiastical Trust. The classes are offered to children free of charge, thanks to the voluntary teachers and people involved. Our organisation is non-profit, sustained financially by voluntary donations.
If you’d like your child to participate in these classes, please send us a message with the child’s name, age, phone number and email address, at one of the following:
– the Parish’s general email address sfmacarie@gmail.com,
– or at the school’s email address: scoalaromaneascaleeds@gmail.com
